What is USY?
United Synagogue Youth (USY) is the official youth organization of the United Synagogue of Conservative
Judaism
(USCJ). Through USY, 9th- 12th graders have a unique and special
Jewish program tailored just for them. USY inspires Jewish youth to
explore, celebrate, and practice ethical values, Zionism, and community
responsibility based upon the ideology of the Conservative Movement.
Jewish teenagers demonstrate and experience the Jewish way of living
through study, action, and fellowship leading to personal fulfillment
and growth, while meeting their spiritual and social needs.
Our
chapter, Palo Alto USY, is based at our synagogue at Kol Emeth. About
once a month, we hold events that are open to all Jewish
highschoolers in the bay area. In the past, PAUSY has played lasertag,
attended Giants games, gone paintballing, gone to Great America, and lots of
other cool activities!
